Volunteer Program
Maya Vakfı (Foundation) volunteers are an integral part of our mental health and psychosocial support services that we provide to children exposed to trauma. Each volunteer is a companion with whom we share our dreams in creating change, helping us reach more children and improve our sphere of influence.
To be a volunteer
- Being 18+ years old and above*
- To adopt the mission, vision and values of the Maya Vakfı
- Being aware that the volunteering process should be regular and continuous in accordance with the principles of working with vulnerable groups
- To be willing to work with traumatized children to build a better future together.
* Our volunteers under the age of 18 can support our activities except our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program periodically within the scope of specially structured projects.
Volunteering Processes
Candidates who apply to be a volunteer at the Maya Vakfı are required to attend the Maya Vakfı Volunteer Training, which covers trauma, communication with children and child protection principles.
Volunteers who will provide long-term and continuous support are given priority in accordance with the principle of working with vulnerable groups.
Volunteers who successfully complete the training and commit to long-term and regular participation start to volunteer in the programs they choose.
Application Procedure
1
In order to become a Maya Foundation volunteer, you need to choose the one that best suits you after examining each of the following types of volunteering.
2
You can make your application by clicking the Application Form button on the page of the volunteering type you have chosen.
3
Since a limited number of volunteers can be accepted to the trainings, there may be a delay in returning due to high volume applications. Volunteer candidates whose applications turn out positive are contacted as soon as possible and the candidates are invited to Volunteer Training. Candidates are required to attend this one-day training. In the training, detailed information on trauma, communication with children exposed to trauma, field and program rules is shared.
4
When the training quota is filled, if the program needs and the profile of the volunteer candidate match, the volunteer is put on the waiting list to be invited to the next training.
*Candidates who apply to the volunteer program for our field work in Şanlıurfa should choose the city of Şanlıurfa in the Application Form. We will share detailed information about the process with our volunteers via e-mail.
