Trauma Informed Schools Program

The Trauma Informed Schools Program consists of activities based on psychosocial support that we carry out in primary schools in Fatih district of Istanbul and in Şanlıurfa. It includes story reading activity in classrooms on trauma screening and peer bullying, and group sessions with children in the school environment. It also includes training sessions for teachers and families.

Trauma Informed Schools Program Volunteer

Volunteers who will support this program are expected to have a degree in psychology or to speak Arabic. Volunteers support our team in activities carried out in the field at schools two days a week between 10.00-14.00 during an academic term.

Volunteers of the Trauma Informed Schools Program are expected to:

  • Translate from Arabic to Turkish or support the organization process during story reading sessions on trauma screening and peer bullying
  • In group sessions, they are expected to support operational processes such as preparation and recovery.

 

Candidates who study or graduate from the Clinical Psychology or Psychology Department are preferred for this type of volunteering.

do not forget to mark this field on the application form and choose Şanlıurfa or Istanbul as your field of study!
